Optimus Maximus Keyboard

Apple files a new patent for developing a dynamic OLED based Keyboard according to AppleInsider.com . The keys will dynamically change based on users set language and opened applications.

Art Lebedev Studio has already created a very similar product called the Optimus Maximus Keyboard (pictured above), available for preorder at $462.27.

    The fact that the guys over at Art-Lebedev neglected to patent their idea astounds me - the fact that someone didn’t beat Apple to the patent is just as remarkable.

    It is impossible for the Optimus to have flown under the radar.

    Good riddance, we can now get our apple key back! I miss the little apple on the command key.

    I think this would be an amazing product if it deems to be true. I really think Apple has other plans for the patent instead of a full fledged keyboard since they just released a new keyboard revision in August 07.

    I didn’t have a Mac until last Oct. so I may not have the same sentimental value for a little image on a key as others. Yet, is it that much of a problem? The clover looks nice.
