Reading the TUAW today I found a cool post on how to by create a custom icon for you iphones homepage on Dan Dickinsons site. All you have to do is

    1. Create a 57×57 PNG.
    2. Name it “apple-touch-icon.png”
    3. Throw it in the root folder of your website.

If you go to Dan Dickinsons link above, it will explain ways to make the .png file name to whatever you want. It’s Pretty cool. Only thing I suggest is keep at least 15% space around your logo or it will be chopped off a little. I made one for www.50leaves.com and turned out pretty good.

Or, you could go to this page:

        https://developer.apple.com/iphone/devcenter/designingcontent.html

And click on “Create a WebClip Bookmark Icon”

:-( i wish they could just have supported favicon.ico with a 64×64 or 48×48 icon resource as well as the 16×16. This is awfully non-standard — and even worse - gven the rel of ‘apple-touch-icon’, actively anti-standards.

That would of been easier to support to the favicon since most websites currently won’t have the Apple icons.
