Getting Thrifty
January 23rd, 2008 at 8:06 pmNow that the economy in general is turning to absolute crap, it’s time to get a little thrifty no matter how much you make. I make six figures a year and I’ve been starting some thrifty moves to help prepare for the future. Here are a few things that may or may not help you.
Over Priced Fuel
- Gas Widget - Gas / Diesel Prices are way to high anyways, why pay more when you don’t have to.
-Next Car/Truck Look into MPG. I bought a Jeep Cherokee Diesel because its cheaper per MPG. I still have my other cars, but this is my daily car to work.

Keep an eye on your Money
-Keep an eye on your money with programs like Cha-Ching, iBank or Cashbox, you’ll be surprised how much money you spend on useless items.

-Avoid ATM Fees, only go to your banks ATM. On average my wife and I were spending $50 a month on ATM fees alone
Looks for Deals!
-Look on various web sites for deals like Pricegrabber.com, CouponShack.com for excellent deals.
-Maybe look into Apple Refurbished Machines, I have never done this personally, but I know people who have with no problems. My next mac I may look into this.
-Starbucks today stated they are selling $1 coffees and free refills.
