SanDisk Talks Smack, Apple Post iTunes Tutorials

On December 19th 2007, Globes Online released a pretty cocky interview with The CEO and chairman Dr. Eli Harari of SanDisk. The article was titled “SanDisk’s Harari: Steve Jobs should be afraid“. The article states his next target is Apples iPod and they should be worried. He calls Steve Jobs “A man of vision, genius, but he isn’t nice. He is immune to error, and the world does not begin and end with Apple.” He also claims loading music on an iPod is not easy.
Of course rival companies talking smack to another is nothing new, but SanDisk is a worthy rival. SanDisk currently has the #2 position in the music media player market and recently grabbed NBC from Apple.
In my opinion apple currently has nothing to worry about for awhile, but a little competition from other companies is always a good thing. Oddly enough Apple today released a bunch of iTunes Tutorials. Coincidence or competition, you decide.

I agree that Apple has nothing to be afraid at least in the near future. I would prefer Apple to SanDisk any day - it’s a brand thing!

I’ve seen the link to the iTunes tips section for a few days now on the apple website and just glossed over it as unnecessary. I will say though, that there were at least three tips that I found interesting/helpful (two that come to mind are the print artwork tip and the wishlist tip).

I am also going to say that Apple has very little to worry about in SanDisk. SanDisk may be #2, but by percent market share where do they fall, I can’t imagine them being even close.
