i don't think it's heat, but rather the electric feedback. that's why click wheels/touchscreens don't work well with gloves. i couln't find a reference for this(thus, i could be wrong).

so... I realize this is kind of a noob question...but what exactly does Jailbreaking your iphone do? I poked around on some of the sites that jailbreak iphones and i could never find a description of what it does. I assumed it unlocked the phone for non at&t users but I saw that it does things for at&t users too.

Even over wifi would be great. There is 3rd party software that does such as WiSync
http://modmyifone.com/wiki/index.php/WiSync , but I shouldn't have to jailbreak my phone for this nor use a 3rd party software..

Well I don't know what your AddressBook looks like, but mine has 387 contacts and the data file itself is over 1Mb. If I recall from the days I had a Sony/Ericsson T68i any changes to my contacts would take about 3 minutes to complete over Bluetooth as the address book database is a single flat file that would have to be transferred in its entirety each time. Bluetooth is s l o o o o o w. USB 2.0 however is 600 times faster.

Yes, you can of course update your phone while its plugged into USB, but why make it sync while plugged in only. Seems like we are going sorta backwards in the way we sync.

I don't get it? Am I missing something in your post? The iPhone syncs your AddressBook contacts and iCal calendars everytime you plug it in to it's cradel through iTunes. Have you not clicked the "Information" tab in iTunes when the phone is plugged in?

iSync was pretty much put out to pasture 2 years ago when they basically stopped updating it and using it for syncing iPods and rolled that all into iTunes and moved the .Mac syncing into the system preferences pane.
